INJECTION-MOLDED MAGNETS
A composite material composed of magnetic powder and thermoplastic binder
+ Nd-Fe-B Injection-Molded Magnets + Ferrite Injection-Molded Magnets + Samarium-Cobalt (Sm-Co) Injection-Molded Magnets + SmFeN Injection-Molded Magnets
01
Injection-molded magnets are composite materials composed of magnetic powder and thermoplastic binders. According to whether an oriented magnetic field is applied during the molding process, they can be divided into isotropic and anisotropic types. Due to the low magnetic powder filling rate, the magnetic properties of isotropic injection-molded magnets are significantly lower than those of compression-molded magnets.
02
According to the type of magnetic powder used, injection-molded magnets can also be divided into: Nd-Fe-B injection-molded magnets, ferrite injection-molded magnets, Sm-Co injection-molded magnets, and SmFeN injection-molded magnets. Among them, the maximum operating temperatures of PA12, PA, and PPS binders can reach 120℃, 150℃, and 180℃ respectively.
03
Injection-molded magnets are very suitable for mass production, with advantages such as high dimensional accuracy, ability to achieve complex shapes, excellent mechanical strength, light weight, and easy integration with other functional components.

SmFeN
SmFeN (also known as Sm₂Fe₁₇N₃) has been regarded as a potential candidate for the next generation of permanent magnet materials since its discovery by Michael Coey in 1990, thus attracting much attention.
The industrialization of SmFeN was initially realized by Japanese enterprises in the field of bonded magnets. Both isotropic and anisotropic magnets require stable raw materials. Daido Steel uses rapid quenching technology to prepare isotropic powder, and its magnet performance even exceeds that of compression-molded Nd-Fe-B magnets; Nichia Chemical and Sumitomo use reduction-diffusion technology to prepare anisotropic powder, which is very suitable for application in injection-molded magnets.

SmFeN ADVANTAGES
The Curie temperature can reach 476℃, which is much higher than that of traditional sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets.
The anisotropy field is three times that of Nd₂Fe₁₄B, showing great potential for manufacturing high-coercivity magnets.
No need to add cobalt or other heavy rare earth elements to adjust magnetic properties.
Excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. However, when the temperature exceeds 650℃, the Sm₂Fe₁₇N₃ phase decomposes into SmN and α-Fe, so sintered SmFeN magnets cannot be prepared by conventional sintering processes.
